OnePlus is delivering stable Android 17 to its latest hardware in India ahead of its planned timetable. The rollout began this week for the OnePlus 15 and the OnePlus Pad 4, bringing the new operating system to regular users after a period of beta testing.

This release marks a structural shift in the company's software strategy. The OnePlus 15 and Pad 4 are the first devices to drop OxygenOS in favor of ColorOS. OxygenOS previously served as a customized interface for global markets, but the company announced its retirement after scaling back global operations. The move consolidates the brand's software stack under Oppo's ecosystem.

The original schedule called for the first stable updates to land on October 29. By launching now, OnePlus has compressed the wait for these flagship devices by approximately seven days. The update introduces features centered on artificial intelligence, which the company describes as "Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere." The goal is to reduce friction between tasks and devices.

The initial wave is limited to the OnePlus 15 and the Pad 4. Other models, including previous generation flagships and various Nord series phones, have been confirmed for the update. The OnePlus 13 is scheduled to receive the stable build on October 30.

The software is expected to reach other regions in the coming days, though specific dates for markets outside India have not been finalized. The early arrival in India follows a period of operational changes for the brand, which saw the OnePlus 15 sell out in the United States after the company reduced its global footprint.

OnePlus also recently unveiled the OnePlus 16, which features a 9,000 mAh battery. The transition to ColorOS 17 represents the first step in aligning the company's remaining device lineup with its new operational structure.
