Jensen Huang spent part of his keynote at the GTC Berlin conference earlier this week playing with a group of small robot ducks. The video of the moment went viral, and the attention quickly turned into orders. By the day after the event, preorders for the Microduck had passed 20,000 units, according to Clem Delangue of Hugging Face.
The robots were designed to waddle, sit, fall down for a nap, and perform somersaults on voice commands. They also make small mechanical noises. Delangue suggested in a tweet that the Microduck could become the best-selling robot of the year, noting that the devices appeal to adults as well as children.
Pollen Robotics produces the Microduck as an open source device. The company was acquired by Hugging Face in 2025. Hugging Face was then bought by Nvidia in September. This makes the Microduck effectively an Nvidia product.
The robots ship with basic tricks like walking, sitting, and standing. These behaviors were trained using Nvidia technology through simulations. Pollen Robotics says owners can teach the devices new tricks and share those programs with other users.
Delangue stated that the Microducks are expected to be delivered in time for Christmas. The company already has a similar product called the Reachy Mini. The Microduck is Hugging Face's second robot release.
