Heidi Klum’s 25th Halloween Party Features a 5-Hour Hand Transformation

Heidi Klum appeared as a severed giant hand at her New York Halloween party on Saturday. The costume marked the 25th anniversary of her annual event, a tradition she has maintained for two and a half decades.

The transformation required five to six hours of work. Klum stated that the process involved applying bloodied prosthetics to her face, a step she documented on Instagram before the party began. She noted that the final look was heavy, calling carrying it the hardest part of the experience.

Only her eyes and mouth were visible beneath the prosthetic. The design featured her specific left hand, complete with long red nails, a thumb ring, and her wedding band and engagement ring. The top of the hand displayed dangling ligaments and tendons, while blood dripped from her mouth as she stuck her tongue out. Helpers in blood-stained hazmat suits assisted her during the event.

Klum explained the concept originated last year when she looked at her hand and wondered if she could fit her body inside it. Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, missed the party due to a tour. However, the costume included a tattoo of his name on the ring finger, along with realistic palm lines and veins. Klum described this detail as a way to keep a bit of him with her.

This year’s look follows a history of elaborate costumes. In 2022, she went viral for a worm costume that allowed her to arrive on a fishing line. Previous appearances included a Greek Medusa, an 8-foot Transformer, a werewolf from Michael Jackson’s Thriller video, and a multiarmed Kali. The party remains a central fixture in the Halloween calendar for Klum and her guests.
