A 23-year-old man from Givatayim was arrested Saturday night after shoving a security guard during a rally in Tel Aviv. The event supported former prime minister Naftali Bennett and his B'Yachad party, which called for a commission of inquiry into the October 7 attacks.
Police say the suspect was under the influence of alcohol. He shouted "Only Bibi" and tried to push through the security perimeter surrounding Bennett. Guards instructed him to stop, but he continued to move toward the former prime minister.
One guard pushed the man back to keep him at a distance. The suspect then confronted the guard and shoved him in return. Security personnel subdued the man and held him at the scene while waiting for officers to arrive.
Police officers arrived at the park and took the suspect into custody. They transported him to a police station for questioning. An initial check showed the man has no prior criminal record.
Investigators are currently examining the circumstances of the incident. The event took place days before the 2026 Knesset elections. IDF soldiers already cast their ballots at military polling stations earlier this week.
