Netflix posted a trailer for its six-episode "Pride and Prejudice" series, which begins streaming Dec. 3. Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden plays Mr. Darcy. The production adapts Jane Austen's 1813 novel and moves through the social world of 19th-century England.

Dolly Alderton, who wrote the novel "Everything I Know About Love," wrote the adaptation. Euros Lyn, who directed "Heartstopper," directs the series. Executive producers include Corrin, Alderton, Lankester, Lyn, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne produces.

The cast list includes Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, and Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet. Jamie Demetriou appears as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham. Rhea Norwood plays Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly plays Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw plays Lady Catherine de Bourg. Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery portray Mary and Kitty Bennet, their first screen roles.

Additional parts go to Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon.

The trailer shows Corrin and Lowden trading lines as their characters clash before the story turns toward their romance. The series runs six episodes.
